Memories are a strange thing. It dwells in the depths of your mind throughout eternity, but depending on the circumstances, does one actually remember anything at all?
Here and there, Splendid would remember bits and pieces of his current life here on this planet. But before then, there was nothing but blackness— a void of empty space hindering any importance. But the space was there, waiting to be filled by those memories he soon came to realize. Thanks to a friendly creature that granted him one wish.
Funny how he and Splendont weren’t all that different after all. Even so, everyone knew their similarities in looks and abilities. The only difference was their attitude and past. Turns out, Splendid had lived here his whole life. Little did he realize that his genetic make-up was of that of a different planet. The works of a scientist who studied alien life forms— Aliens, not those weird creatures. Meaning foreigners inhabiting other planets. Just because they aren’t from earth, doesn’t mean their appearance is any different.
Which comes to Splendont, who did come from another planet. An alternate planet— a dimension, an opposite of this earth. Where everyone was a super hero, and Splendid was the odd one out. Except… Because of Splendont’s abilities, he was the unwanted? Were all super heroes on Splendont’s previous planet as God awful as Splendid is on this earth?
These questions couldn’t be completely answered. But what Splendid did know, is that his so called “abilities” weren’t from genetic make-up, but were infused into his body as a child. Actually, injected into a pregnant woman from the genes of a man of another planet. Splendont’s planet. The mother of Splendid was some mortal, none like their kind. She didn’t even survive through childbirth. The scientist was his parent, feeding into his adolescent mind to become a super hero for this planet. Until he was old enough to fend for himself, the scientist used a device to blank out Splendid’s memories of growing up with the man he called “father”. To this day, Splendid still doesn’t know the man. But it didn’t matter…
Whether or not becoming a terrible hero is hereditary, he can’t be for certain. Splendid did try his best all the time, he doesn’t mean to cause accidents, he was unlucky is all. The abilities grew when he did, as he reached adulthood is when his powers were fully developed with the body he grew into. Twenty-three years on earth meant that was his true age, yes. Did he still have a lot to learn? Of course! This may not even be the end of his development, he could learn so many new things, that he wasn’t even aware of yet!
While most his questions were answered, like it or not Splendid dealt with it and realized… He didn’t need his memories to be completely happy. He had all he needed right in front of his eyes, not acknowledging it until now. The hero wasn’t upset, not happy either… Sort of neutral terms when it comes to his emotions right now. Sitting upon one of the many trees he resides to, to ponder alone in peace. He is glad to know, happy to know he exists. There was no missing past after all. He has always been here.

As he stood on top of the highest peak, Splendid looked down on what he thought to believe was his world. Negative thoughts progressed, receding into the back of his mind. Each passing second, the more tears leaked from the corner of his eyes. The more he shuttered, feeling his world crash all around him. He felt secluded on this peak, nobody could reach him here. The oxygen level was too low to withstand if you were human. But he wasn’t. Splendid didn’t know what he was, he didn’t know his purpose here.
Splendid was struggling to grasp these emotions, they were spindling out of control and he cried out like a powerhouse, the vibes creating tremendous avalanches from underneath him, echoing out for miles. He was here, nobody could hear him or see him. There was nothing left on this planet, if he wasn’t needed here… Then what was he good for in the end?
If all he caused was pain and suffering, then a hero was definitely the wrong title for this super being. He had been mislead, perhaps his purpose here was to cause harm to all— since that was all he was capable to do in the past. He couldn’t bring himself to think such thoughts, he didn’t hurt or kill his friends on purpose, it had always been an accident. They could forgive him, but the process would repeat. It was endless torture for them all, and Splendid was sinking further into depression.
But the ire was far more powerful. Lifty affected him in more ways than one, and Shifty’s negligence put the hero over the edge. Of course, relying on those two to help a guy out was the wrong choice to begin with, and now Splendid felt like he had nowhere to turn. He’s gone and destroyed forests on his way here, the alacrity of his flight tore each tree from the earth, overturned every boulder and left the woods in turmoil. If he was capable to do that on purpose— because he sure as Hell wasn’t thinking clearly when he flew as far away as possible. In the end, his mind was racing more than the forests he annihilated.
He couldn’t take it anymore.
“Why am I here?”
“Where is my home?”
“What is my name?”
“Who am I?”
“When will I find my purpose here?”
“How can I find it…”

He was yelling to the heavens, demanding answers that failed to return his pleads. Splendid wanted to know, if he had a past, if he obtained a future, or any memories for that matter. The tears welled in his eyes again, and he broke down— curling his body into his knees and weeping loudly into the fabric of his pants. He felt so utterly alone right now, his heart almost couldn’t take it. He wanted a shoulder to cry on, someone who could understand this stress that had overtaken his psyche, if there were no answers… How could he continue here? Where would he go next?
“I was useless to you all,”
The hero seethed, gritting his teeth as he peeked over his knees, then slowly rose to his feet. His hands shook at his waist, hands balled into a white-knucked fist when he hovered off the ground.
“Everyone was mocking me, never taking me seriously,”
Splendid’s brain was going into overdrive with the perspective of negativity. Each word he spoke grew deeper, more sensitive to his judgment. He left his peak— in which he’d refer to it as his peak of despair— and took off, backtracking. The top of the mountain breaking off, and magma erupting from the top. When Splendid was a disaster to society, it was true. Plumes of smoke puffed into the skies and lava trickled from the faces of the mountain. Splendid deliberately ignored the cries coming from cities residing at the bottom of the mountain. This was personal, he wasn’t playing hero anymore. If nobody acknowledged it before, then why should he continue this charade?
After abandoning his post, he made his way through the forests he’d destroyed on the way. Within a matter of minutes, he was hovering over his hometown. Staring down from above, with a look of utter disgust.

“Do you see me now? Can you HEAR me?”
The masked man desperately called, and when nobody answered, he swelled furiously. He was supposed to be loved and adored by all, he was titled a hero for that reason, he took these gifts in order to make a change to this pathetic world. Everyone was in danger, even more than they thought they’d be. Accidents happened all over, intentional or not. Splendid was the accident. He believed he was put here by mistake. He was an accident, a mistake, a fool for thinking he could make a difference. None of it mattered anymore.
This hero was no longer stable.
“ANSWER ME!”

Splendid’s eyes flickered a brighter hue of cerulean as they charged, glinting with a flash before expelling a powerful, destructive ray down upon the city. He had two different types of laser eye beams, the red one was simply a heat ray while the blue was pure demolition. Buildings vaporized upon contact of the beam, and streets melted as it passed. He warned his civilians, but do they give a damn? All they do is scream, run for their lives and call for help. Help that wasn’t going to come. For all the blue hero knew, Splendont moved on, just as he should. He was probably as useless to this planet as he was.
“Do you think I WANT to do this!?”
He dashed through the wreckage of the city, picking up random citizens and tossing them into the side as if they were crumpled up pieces of paper. Splendid growled, his eyes darting to each and every person crying and running for their lives.
“Is THIS what you wanted all along!? WILL I BE MORE MEMORABLE NOW?”
Tears sprung at his eyes once more, but dissolved at his beams bolted from them and caused a few vehicles to explode on contact— concrete debris raining down on the city once more.
“Is this my destiny…”
His heart was racing in his chest, adrenaline… Getting that bottled up energy out was feeling pretty good. But alas, this wouldn’t solve anything. Still so many things left unanswered. So he continued to wreak havoc upon this forsaken city, spouting what’s on his mind, crying his heart out and regretting every moment of it. He wondered if he’d be able to stop, and also considered how long it’d take to destroy the world. Thoughts like these so conflicting, tasteful and agonizingly painful.
When would it end?

It was just a friendly outing. Petunia invited Flippy to go set off fireworks; at first, it sounded like a blast!

“It seems Daisy has kept him on a tight leash. She can take care of it…”

“Why? What is he doing?”
